Frisco ISD is excited to host the first LFNTX meeting of 2024 on Friday, January 12, and hopes everyone can join in for fellowship and learning as we all celebrate a new year, new goals, new ideas… and new connections. Help build our network in 2024 by bringing a new friend to join!

We know it is a busy time of year, so save the date on your calendar and RSVP HERE. More details about the meeting location and learning will be posted when we all return in January – we hope everyone has a restful break and comes back recharged and ready to ring in the new year!

The meeting will be held at Birdville ISD’s Professional Learning Center in Birdville Plaza: 6351 Boulevard 26, North Richland Hills, TX 76180. We will provide light breakfast food items and caffeine.  There are filtered water stations throughout our building, so please bring your own reusable water cup to meet your hydration needs. Also, we recommend dressing in layers as some days it is very cold in the rooms.

A Feast of Learning: We welcome you to join us at our tables as you fill your plate with ways we’ve cooked up some delicious approaches to common issues.

You’ll hear about professional learning from folks that work in Coaching, Multilingual Services, Special Education, Digital Learning, Campus (Administrative) Support, and Instruction and how they have guided their work to target the needs of their people. It’s more fun when there is family at the table! This is a great opportunity for you to invite someone from your district that provides professional learning but may not be on *the* professional learning team.  Please RSVP above so we know how many to expect!

We are looking forward to gathering this Friday, October 20th at the LFNTX meeting! The meeting will be held at Region 10 (Spring Valley Campus, 400 E. Spring Valley Rd, Richardson, TX 75081-5101).  If you have not already, please take a moment to RSVP.  See you all Friday!

It was so good to see so many of you yesterday at LFNTX.  I am sorry I could not attend the afternoon session. I heard it was just as fabulous as the morning session.  Thank you, DISD P&DL, for starting us off right. 

As promised, here are a few opportunities to volunteer and support Learning Forward Texas. 

• Learning Forward Texas Needs Survey – Share your thoughts to help develop future events and resources.  Your input is critical to our organization, please take a few minutes and respond. The survey closes Friday, September 29.  
• 2024 Conference Planning Committees –  Do you like planning conferences and events? Help the LFTX board and conference team by serving on the Conference Planning Committee.  Complete the form to select where you would like to help. The form is due Friday, September 29. 
• Remember our hashtag is #LFTXlearns and #LFNTX, follow us and share the fabulous professional learning going on in your district.

The 2024 Learning Forward Texas Conference proposal window opens Thursday, September 28 – October 29.  We seek innovative ideas and strategies to help solve today’s issues in professional learning, leadership, and instruction. Watch your email for the link.

We will collaborate around problems of practice during the morning (9-11:30am) and a light breakfast will be served.

Dallas ISD is excited to bring to your attention a unique opportunity taking place in the afternoon portion of our meeting (1:00-3:00pm). This gathering will address beneficial topics such as STAAR instructional resources for the new item types, new teacher and mentor professional learning, and alternative forms of professional learning.

The Dallas ISD Professional & Digital Learning team has meticulously planned this afternoon showcase with the aim of providing a platform for learning and growth. We are thrilled for you to be a part of this enriching experience that allows you to share knowledge and to delve into the learning materials and resources. Please bring a charged device and be ready to learn, discuss, and have fun!
