April 14 LFNTX Meeting

Region 10 colleagues are looking forward to a day of problem-solving, learning, and networking, and we can’t wait to grow with LFNTX friends! Please RSVP for the April 14th Meeting and see below for details.

Location: Region 10 ESC (Spring Valley Campus) 400 E. Spring Valley Rd, Richardson, TX 75081-5101

There are parking lot entrances on both Abrams Rd and Spring Valley. We’ll be in the Grayson/Hunt rooms (1st floor). The rooms are sometimes cold, so you may want to bring a sweater. A light breakfast and coffee will be served.

  • 9:00-11:30 AM: Problems of Practice Collaboration and LFNTX and LFTX update
  • 11:30 AM-1:00 PM Lunch
  • 1:00-3:00 PM:
    Preview our evolving approach for designing learning experiences, and discover strategies that can be used to refine your own upcoming PL sessions and events. You’ll explore curated resources and leverage digital tools to develop a pathway that results in A+ PD.

February 10th Meeting in Plano ISD

Plano ISD is looking forward to hosting LFNTx on February 10. We will start at 9:00 AM in the Plano ISD Sockwell Center located at 6301 Chapel Hill Blvd, Plano, TX 75093. A light breakfast will be provided.

At 1 PM, Plano ISD’s PL team will share about the district’s ongoing commitment to providing a tiered system of support for classroom leadership and management. At 2 PM, representatives from the Human Resources team will share about the district’s newly approved Pathways to Teacher Certification.

January 13th LFNTX Meeting in Keller ISD

We are looking forward to the first meeting of the new year on January 13th in Keller ISD! We will start at 9:00 AM in the Keller Administration Building (350 Keller Parkway). Our hosts ask us to park in the visitor parking lot and enter through the visitor entrance. The meeting will be in the Board Room, which is the rock building right when you enter the main entrance. Bagels will be provided.

Our afternoon session begins at 1:00 PM and will be a Professional Learning Standards implementation workshop. We will be working with Lisa Ham on learning more about the PL standards and setting action plans on implementing them in our district.

October 21 Meeting in Waxahachie ISD

Our October meeting will be held in Waxahachie at the Curriculum and Instruction Building, 51 Northgate Dr. Waxahachie, TX 75165. Please enter at the main entrance.  From there, the receptionist will show you where we will be meeting. Our day will run from 9:00am-3:00pm, with lunch on your own from 11:30am-1:00pm. Coffee, drinks, and a light breakfast will be provided. If you have not already RSVP’d, please do so here.

We will spend the morning in our POP groups.

For the afternoon session, Waxahachie will share how they are adapting the traditional professional learning format to meet the needs of their teachers through job-embedded PL.  Through the use of programs to support both beginning teachers as well as teacher leaders to the design of a subscription box service for secondary teachers, the TLI team is working to support educators in new ways.

September 23 at Region 11

Welcome to our LFNTX 22-23 school year kickoff!

Region 11 is excited to host our first LFNTX meeting of the year on Friday, September 23, and can’t wait to get started! Please see below for details about the day and the opportunity to RSVP.

Region 11 is located at: 1451 S. Cherry Lane, White Settlement, TX 76108. The meeting will be from 9:00 am-3:00 pm and break for lunch 11:30 am-1:00 pm. There will be some breakfast snacks provided and our hosts will have complimentary coffee and tea.

If you can join us for all or part of our day, please take a moment to complete this brief form to help Region 11 plan for our visit. The theme for the meeting is TEAMWORK.  If you do plan to attend, please feel free to wear your favorite team’s jersey or spirit shirt, and you are welcome to bring a tailgate-themed snack to share if you would like. Also, it can get chilly in the Region 11 rooms, so you may want to bring a light jacket!
