Designing and delivering valuable professional learning for everyone else….In our afternoon together we will explore the challenges and rewards of supporting our paraprofessional and non-instructional support staff.  RISD will share current ways they are providing learning opportunities and invite other districts to share their needs and successes to meet the professional learning goals of ALL employees.

Lewisville ISD professional learning team will share how they have tackled the challenge to provide relevant and continuous learning for all in a large district through a variety of ways. Lewisville will spotlight their 3- year support plan for new teachers and multiple online learning avenues including video library, Canvas online courses, and Twitter chats and book studies. Walk away with ideas of structures and resources to support continuous learning for all in your district.

This month our group has a unique opportunity to collaborate with Learning Forward Texas as feedback partners for the newest module: Cultivating Leadership: Facilitation Skills that Foster Collaborative Practice. We will be providing feedback and applying our collective expertise to refine and perfect this learning experience before it is ready for publication!

The complete module will be divided into segments in order to accommodate our unique learning community. You are still welcome to attend for morning, afternoon, or BOTH!

Make sure to bring a device with you!

January: In January we will resume regularly scheduled meetings as we convene in Lewisville ISD on January 18th. In October we narrowed the focus of our morning collaboration time  to three projects:

In the afternoon the PL Team from Keller ISD will be sharing a few tips and tricks on conference planning. We will spotlight Keller University, their annual learning conference, and share ways they have grown the conference over the last four years and ways they have made it unique to create a fun learning environment for our teachers. This will be an interactive afternoon of learning that will help you plan for meaningful and memorable learning in your district!

We will set the focus for our collaborative time together at this meeting.

In our first regular LFNTX meeting of the year we will spend some time collectively reflecting on our individual summer learning, support for new teacher’s, and start to the 2018-19 school year. We will use our reflections to outline priorities and plan our learning for the year.

We are looking forward to learning together this year! Please forward this invitation to anyone in your organization or professional learning network who would benefit to from the learning or add to our group’s continued success!
