This month our group has a unique opportunity to collaborate with Learning Forward Texas as feedback partners for the newest module: Cultivating Leadership: Facilitation Skills that Foster Collaborative Practice. We will be providing feedback and applying our collective expertise to refine and perfect this learning experience before it is ready for publication!
The complete module will be divided into segments in order to accommodate our unique learning community. You are still welcome to attend for morning, afternoon, or BOTH!
Make sure to bring a device with you!
November: Don’t forget that the nominations for the Learning Forward Texas Awards are due on November 16th. For more information, check out: https://www.learningforwardtexas.org/awards
December: We replace our monthly meeting with the Learning Forward National Conference. For more information: https://conference.learningforward.org/
January: In January we will resume regularly scheduled meetings as we convene in Lewisville ISD on January 18th. In October we narrowed the focus of our morning collaboration time to three projects:
- New Teacher Support
- Alternative Forms of PD
- Measuring Impact of PD
We look forward to seeing you in November, and then at the Conference in December!

Problem Of Practice: Through collaborative inquiry and research we will meet the diverse needs of adult learners through differentiated professional learning.
In the afternoon Forney ISD will share with us the process they have used to build their innovative school calendar that focuses on embedding time for professional learning. They will share their thinking about minutes and days, but also take us deeper into the logistics of planning for teacher learning, and how that planning will impact their students. We will also hear from a special group of students who have unique insight into what meaningful professional learning can look like. Join us for an afternoon of insight and innovation as we work through the process and the products of professional learning planning.
